Whilst talking to someone today I was reminded of all my filler words. 'You know'; 'like'; 'just'; 'actually'. The last one is the most interesting to me. It's as if every mundane thing I say is contrary to popular belief. Every response I have to an open-ended question will be surprising.
Person: Have you eaten yet?
Me: Actually, I just went to Quiznos.
Person: What! That was exactly the opposite of what I was expecting to happen!
Me: Oh, I didn't...
Person: I don't believe you. I don't believe you!! Ahhhhh!!!!!
It's never escalated to this proportion, but some day it will.
